Well, I have thought a lot about what to write, I wanted to write a review of my favorite books "The Picture of Dorian Gray" by Oscar Wilde, but I have a lot to say about this book but I still don't have my ideas organized. So I decided to write about an idea that I have had lately this year and it is: How tiktok has helped the sale of second-hand clothes among other things.
In the first instance, the phenomenon of tiktok with quarantine must be explained. Due to the quarantine, the hours in front of the phone were extended and people began to get bored of the same social platforms, then, they migrated to tiktok, a social network that combines Instagram with YouTube, with the loss of Vine -a great social network, r.i.p- mutated to Tiktok. So you could spend hours and hours watching videos of other things outside of your life, for example the lifestyle of others, people's outfits, diy, book and movie recommendations, etc. So with this platform you can see the diversity of the lifestyle of others.
And because of the algorithm, people started wanting other people's style for 💫aesthetics.💫 The diversity of aesthetics began to spread more, people began to make tiktoks of outfits, how to combine clothes, where to buy them, how take selfies, etc. So, these videos that were mostly was in English then, these videos that were mostly seen in english, Chileans began to recreate them too and they began to go viral. And this is the reason why a T-shirt it used to cost $ 2000 CLP on Bandera Street is now priced at $ 9,990 CLP.
The phenomenon of ''thrifty'' now is no longer so.
