POST 03_Theme free post
In this post - copying the idea of the teacher - I will try to write a -very informal- review of ''The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde'' of Robert Louis Stevenson
I read this book a month ago, in fact it was an afternoon reading, it was very short but soo good.
I started reading classics this year because of the quarantine, years ago I didn't read for my own pleasure. I bought this book because it is from a collection of classics. This book is about -sorry if I spoiled you the reading is so much better than knowing the end- a lawyer who invetigates the case of his old friend Dr. Jekyll. As the story unfolds, it is revealed that the Dr. was able to separate his '' Good / Bad Self '' - bad side knowing as Mr. Hyde- with a chemical liquid.
So, the awesome of this story is the end, beyond the revelation of the secret of the Dr. the last chapters are soooo good, the narrator changes because now we reading a letters from the Dr. Jekyll telling his story and it transformed into a kind of essay on morality about the good and bad, how the good is acceptable for the society and the bad or evil is rejected by society, and the author know exactly turn a story very fictional to something very real, because the topic of the book it can be easily turn to something funny and comic but the end *cheff kiss* and everything is in the way the author writes. The fact he touch the topic of dual personality when in those years teh disorder wasn't know yet.
If you haven't read it, please do it, its a short story, its take a couple of hours and you will don't regret it.
